How to Easily Find Dog-Friendly Hotels in Seconds

I LOVE traveling with my dogs, especially on weekend getaways. Friends often ask me how I find our accommodations. It hasn’t always been this easy, I tried lots of different ways but the BEST way is by using the Expedia search platform… and let me tell you WHY I think that!

Expedia’s search platform is the only one of the big search engines that gives you the pet fees! The others just tell you there are fees included, but you’d have to check the site’s website or call them, and NOBODY has time for that. So, let me show you how to use the Expedia app to find the essential information you need before booking your next pet adventure.

STEP 1: Open the app on your phone or tablet or visit the Expedia website on your laptop/desktop.

No matter which platform you have access to, it’s easy to use the Expedia platform. They make it super easy for their customers. That’s why I’ve been one for over 25 years!

STEP 2: Put in your information for your stay.

STEP 3: Use the FILTER function to include “Pet Friendly.”

STEP 4: Click on a hotel choice and check their details and/or policies.

On the app, you’ll click “SEE DETAILS” and if you’re accessing the website you’ll look at the top and click “Policies” or scroll down to see that section.

STEP 5: Compare the various pet fees.

Currently, pet fees can be DRASTICALLY different, even if two properties are managed by the same brand. Some fees are per STAY, and some are per DAY. There may also be size restrictions, types, and numbers of pets allowed.

STEP 6: Book your favorite spot!

With all the information in one spot, you can comfortably book your stay with Expedia knowing the total cost of the accommodations with your set pet fee.

Priceline

Though Priceline offers some great discounts and has a great international presence, their pet-friendly search engine lacks the details that the Expedia site does. You can use their filter function but you won’t get specific prices, only directions to contact the property.

Booking.com

Though Booking.com also offers some great discounts and has a great international presence, their pet-friendly search engine also lacks the details that the Expedia site does. They have the same filter function as Priceline but again, you will not see specific pricing, only directions to contact the property.
