Though Hempstead doesn’t offer a lot to include in a travel guide, I wanted to showcase this small town 50 miles west of downtown Houston because what it lacks in size, it makes up for in heart. Both events I’ve included in this guide take year ‘round planning, dedication, and is done to celebrate and honor veterans from wars in the distant past up to today.
